The Date

Last Fall, we held the Free Keene Fest the Sunday after the Keene Pumpkin Festival. The thought was that there were a lot (~20,000) of people in town already on Saturday, so some might still be there Sunday and be walking around town and want to participate in the Free Keene Fest. I have no idea if it worked, but unless anyone has better suggestions, let's try it again.

This year's Pumpkin Festival is on Saturday, October 17, so let's hold the Free Keene Fest on Sunday, October 18.

After reading about 2008, I

After reading about 2008, I was planning on making my first trip to NH (from CA) to coincide with these two events and see Keene in action, so I hope it happens that day! :)

Fantastic!

I'm excited that you're considering moving to NH, especially, Keene, and want to participate in the Free Keene Fest! I moved from CA almost a year ago. There is current discussion about whether the upcoming Free Keene Fest will be a camping event and, if so, which dates it will occur on (possibly a different date than mentioned above). Whatever is decided, I will post updates here.

Confirmed

The date has been confirmed. The Fall 2009 Free Keene Fest will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009.

Hotdogs

Kellie and I would be glad to continue the tradition of selling hotdogs, It's October again so I guess it'll be Halloweiners again :)

halloweiners

Awesome! Thanks!

Wife and I planning to attend

Porcfest 09 left a huge impression on me. I'm flying to Manchester from Las Vegas and going to rent a car and drive to Keene for FreeKeenefest, and the Pumpkin Festival as an additional bonus. This time I'm bringing the Wife.

Any word yet on whether it will be a camping event?

long distance

Wow, that's huge, Kris! I think you should know that the Free Keene Fest is *MUCH* smaller of an event than PorcFest. Even if we have camping this time (and it's not looking too likely - check out this discussion: http://forum.freekeene.com/index.php?topic=1189.0), there will still be a much smaller group.

I'm not trying to discourage you from coming, but to come from Vegas means taking time off work and spending a lot on travel expenses, and I want you to be sure what your spending it for: a 4-hour event with about 10-15 exhibitors and 2-3 live bands.
