Fantastic Event!

The Spring 2009 Free Keene Fest was a fantastic success! We had great weather again (despite the forecast predicting thunderstorms - again). Rumors of War and Josh Noone & the Federal Crime played during most of the event, drawing people in from the street. There were many more attendees than last time; Lauren counted 70 people while Josh Noone was playing. Donations were made to the Robin Hood Parking Meter fund, and postcards were written to Sam (still in jail after 41 days!). There were 3 people selling food and/or drinks - competition is great!

Then, in the afternoon, about 50 of us had a picnic and BBQ in Robin Hood park. We BBQed hamburgers and hot dogs, drank sodas and beer, played frisbee and talked and enjoyed the day. Chris brought his generator and Rumors of War played another concert for us in the amphitheater.

And to top it all off, the police left us alone! We still did not obtain a permit, and we again told them in advance that we'd be holding an event that day. Perhaps they have learned one ore more lessons, such as "only charge someone with a 'crime' if they are indeed committing one" and "leave peaceful people alone." :)

Many people helped make this event such a success. Much thanks goes to these people for volunteering their time, property and money, and effort. Thank you!

And that's just for the festival. Even more people participated to make the picnic so much fun!
(I apologize if I've forgotten anyone - please let me know if I have!)

And, of course, thanks to all of you who spent your day with us!
