Hey guys,
I have yet to talk to the band about playing the event. We have been played a lot of these shows in NH and man are they a good time. I really do love it. But Im running into an issue. I am sort of reluctant to ask the guys at this point only because I feel like I've been asking a lot of these guys without giving them much in return. The band is about 1.5 hours from Keene which is not a problem for me, but the other band members are getting a bit restless at the lack of paying gigs considering they have to drive up, setup, tear down, eat and generally spend all day doing this.

I'd like to be able to sell enough merch or collect enough donations to give the other guys (2 of them) about 50 a piece for coming all the way up and playing. Dont get me wrong, these are not the kind of pretentious guys that dont care about the event and its meaning. They dont ever ask for money, but I know their financial situations and I know they could use it. We all could right? I keep asking them to drive out to NH, NYC, Boston, you know places that are hours away for basically free shows because Im not smart enough to make money at this. I basically give them most all of the merch money (which has been like 20 bucks total lately) , and eat the costs myself because I love to play, especially at liberty events.

I'd love to get some paying gigs.

Maybe someone would be interested in helping book the band for payed gigs at clubs, theaters, universities (colleges pay!) , or organizing shows between several similar bands. This booking agent could definitly make a cut themselfs.

Paying gigs would help to offset the free gigs.

Maybe I need new better ideas for merch that WILL sell?

any ideas you guys/gals have would be awesome!
